It’s Hard to Be Vigilant

Published by Yaholo under Poetry, Poetry - Mystic

It’s hard to be vigilant
The distractions are many

It’s hard to remain alert
The dreaming comes so easy

The evils are hidden well
The horrors swept under view

The pleasures are obvious
The delights of brilliant hue

The work of the day is light
In light of when I compare

To the work of the needy
Those truly in need of care

The innocent suffer there
The voiceless die while unheard

But comfortable am I
The miseries become blurred

My concerns are so petty
But my mind is so consumed

My life is so hurried
I have no time for the doomed

Death is but a fairy tale
And of no interest to me

The here and now fill my thoughts
Just earthly treasure I see

It’s hard to be vigilant
The distractions are many

It’s hard to remain alert
The dreaming comes so easy

3) Are your heroes and roles models all dead (but always with you in spirit)?
4) Can you say “have a blessed day” with a straight face?
5) Do you have have the tendency to fold your hands, close your eyes, and nod slowly when listening to others?
6) Do you use the word “Universe” in casual conversations unrelated to astronomy?

Just Thinking…

Published by Yaholo under Just for Fun (Mystic Humor)

I was thinking… “How large must a concern be before it can be properly brought before God without flippancy?” I then realized to answer such a question is foolish, as it brings human conditional measurements to matters of divine judgment….   so I asked God for a sandwich.
